Showroom Assistant
Mekhann | Chelsea, London | Full-time | On-site
Mekhann is a London design house creating one-of-a-kind embroidered silk works and objects for interiors, with showrooms in Chelsea and Mayfair.
We are looking for a Showroom Assistant to support our Chelsea showroom. The role combines client service, stock organisation, website support and day-to-day administration, working closely with the Showroom Manager.
You should be equally comfortable welcoming a client, checking a delivery and updating a product record. Care for the physical space and confidence working with digital systems are both essential.
What you’ll do
- Welcome clients, assist with product enquiries and help prepare for showroom visits, appointments and follow-ups.
- Keep the showroom organised and well presented, with pieces carefully arranged before and after visits. Support opening and closing routines, progressing to keyholder responsibility once trained.
- Receive and check deliveries, maintain accurate stock records, coordinate stock movements and prepare items for collection or dispatch with appropriate care and packaging.
- Support product updates in Shopify, checking descriptions, images and product information for accuracy and consistency.
- Prepare and organise product photographs, content files and documents so that materials are correctly labelled and easy to find.
- Assist the Showroom Manager with scheduling, document preparation, appointments and occasional showroom events. Keep task records up to date and communicate progress clearly.

What we’re looking for
- Experience in a showroom, retail, hospitality or another client-facing environment, with an interest in interiors, textiles or design.
- Confidence using spreadsheets, shared folders, email and digital systems. Experience with Shopify or another stock or website platform would be useful.
- A careful approach to product handling, written information and record keeping.
- Clear spoken and written English, with a professional and considerate manner.
- The ability to organise your work, follow instructions accurately and complete agreed tasks without repeated reminders.
- Someone who enjoys working in a small team and is comfortable moving between practical showroom work and computer-based tasks.

Working at Mekhann
You will work directly with the Founder and gain practical experience across client service, product presentation, stock management and ecommerce support. As you become familiar with the collection and our systems, you will take greater responsibility for the showroom’s daily operation.
Location and terms
- Based at our Chelsea showroom on Fulham Road, with occasional support at our Mayfair showroom.
- Full-time, five days per week on a rota, including two Saturdays per month.
- Starting salary of £28,000 per annum, increasing to £30,000 following successful completion of probation.
- Initial probation period of three months.
- 28 days’ paid annual leave, including bank holidays.
- Any additional seasonal working days will be agreed in advance and paid separately.
