JIM THOMPSON - Showroom Sales

Jim Thompson, renowned as the legendary producer of Thai silk with a uniquely rich history that dates back to 1950, Jim Thompson has today become a brand synonymous with iconic and innovative collections of textiles beyond silk that are widely used by influential figures in the design industry. The company thrives in their continuous endeavors to develop a diverse product portfolio which now includes performance fabrics, wallcoverings with distribution in over 60 countries worldwide.

Pierre Frey has recently taken on the UK distribution of Jim Thompson and its family of collections. Founded in 1935, PIERRE FREY is a leading French luxury design company in the home textile sector. Pierre Frey has a history of passion for interior decoration, honoring the past and turning towards the future, with careful attention to detail and inspired creation.

We are currently looking for a Showroom Salesperson to run our new Jim Thompson Showroom based in Chelsea Harbour. You will have a real passion for design, and work closely with the Pierre Frey Showroom team as well as the Sales team.

You will likely have 3-4 years showroom experience, be familiar with fabrics & wallpapers. You will bring your enthusiasm and belief in the Jim Thompson Collections of fabrics & wallpapers to bear when demonstrating the brands to clients – both existing and new.

Your main role will include:

  • Actively helping to scheme with clients
  • Assist with client requests via sampling, pricing, stock levels and other tasks as needed
  • Reinforcing existing relationships with designers, especially those who source via Chelsea Harbour
  • Organisation, operations & maintenance of the Showroom

The role will also have an administrative element:

  • Entering orders on to our IT system, and doing the follow up (dealing with payments, deliveries, stocks, prices, quality issues, etc)
  • Preparing quotes/proformas & invoices, chasing clients to get order confirmations
  • Answering & directing incoming calls/emails, excellent communication skills required,
  • Various ad-hoc duties, in collaboration with sales team and showroom, as well as with our French HQ and warehouses.

We are a small team, so we expect our team to be flexible and available for additional specific tasks not mentioned above!

You will be:

  • Really enthusiastic about iconic design, with a good interior design eye
  • An experienced Showroom employee with a proven track record; able to multi-task
  • Efficient with administrative tasks, confident with complex softwares
  • A good team player, self-motivated, proactive and well organised
  • Able to communicate professionally and confidently with clients in the showroom, on the phone and by email; strong spoken and written English
  • A native/fluent Thai speaker would be advantageous but not essential

You’ll need to be eligible to live and work in the UK. Salary depending on experience.

Full time based in the Showroom: Monday-Friday. 9:30am-5:30pm, based in London - Chelsea Harbour.
