GXO are looking for a Shunter to join our team in Stafford for our Screwfix contract. You’ll be working for a leading logistics company and involved in ensuring that the trade counters across the country have sufficient stocks to supply their customer’s needs. Everything from screws to lawn mowers to the kitchen sink!

Pay, benefits and more:

This position operates from Monday to Friday between the hours of 2pm and midnight equating to a 50-hour working week. We offer £44,848.43 Per annum as well as 31 days of annual leave inclusive of bank holidays. What you'll do on a typical day:

  • To undertake the shunting of trailers on and off bays while ensuring correct trailers are dispatched as well as the movement of trailers between Distribution centres where necessary
  • Responsible for ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately and timely
  • Responsible for the control of busy yard area
  • Liaising with drivers, the warehouse and the fleet manager to ensure correct vehicles are dispatched and trailer are loaded and depart on time.
  • Maintain documentation or systems input to ensure trailer locations are accurately recorded and updated

What you need to be successful at GXO:

  • Class 1 Licence and full CPC
  • You will be required to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally at all levels
  • Must be capable of working under your own initiative
  • Will be prepared to carry out other ‘ad hoc’ duties as and when required
  • You will have a proactive and committed approach towards all aspects of the job and ensure high standards in health and safety; customer service and legal compliance are met and exceeded
