Pilgrim's Europe is looking for a reliable and safety-focused Shunter Driver to join our Despatch team at Westerleigh.
In this role, you will be responsible for the safe movement of trailers around site using a Terberg unit, ensuring operations run efficiently and on schedule. Working outdoors, you will play a key part in supporting our loading and dispatch activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Move trailers safely between the trailer park and loading bays.
- Carry out daily tug and trailer inspections and report defects.
- Ensure vehicles are correctly fuelled and refuel when required.
- Monitor temperatures of refrigeration units.
- Liaise with despatch, yard, goods-in and wash teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Coordinate HGV movements around site.
- Maintain clean and tidy loading bay and yard areas.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety, Hygiene and Company procedures.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.

What We're Looking For
- Previous shunting or lorry driving experience is essential.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently.
- High level of Health & Safety awareness.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends when required.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work as part of a team.
