Do you want to play a vital role in keeping our transport operation running smoothly by safely moving trailers around the yard and ensuring efficient loading and unloading? Want to be part of a team that is always with you, on the move, and making a difference?
Here at GXO, we are looking for Shunters to join us at our new site in Wellingborough. You’ll be part of a team that works closely together to keep operations on track and ensure deliveries are completed efficiently.
You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, on an ‘any 5 days from 7’ pattern, contracted to 40 hours per week. We are currently recruiting for the shift 14:00-22:00.
This role requires a degree of flexibility to work weekends in line with business needs.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Safely manoeuvre trailers and vehicles around the yard, using a shunter vehicle, ensuring smooth and efficient site operations
- Position trailers onto bays in readiness for loading and unloading, maintaining yard organisation at all times
- Carry out daily vehicle and equipment checks, reporting any defects, damage, or wear and tear promptly
- Work closely with warehouse, transport, and site teams to ensure health & safety procedures and operational requirements are consistently met
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
- Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph cards
- No more than six penalty points on your licence (no TT, DD, DR, DG, BA, AC, LC or CD endorsements)
- Previous shunting experience is desirable, but full training can be provided
