Role Description

This is a part-time remote role for a Shutter and Blind Fitter. The role involves scheduling and managing fitting appointments, reviewing measurement details and installation plans, and preparing necessary tools and materials for each job. The Shutter and Blind Fitter will communicate with customers to confirm requirements, provide basic product guidance, and coordinate on-site visits, which may require travel from the remote home base. Day-to-day tasks include installing shutters and blinds, adjusting fittings for proper alignment and operation, and ensuring that all work meets quality and safety standards. The role also includes documenting completed work, reporting any issues, and collaborating with the wider team to improve processes and customer satisfaction.

  • Practical skills in measuring, installing, and adjusting shutters and blinds, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions or installation guides and use standard hand tools and basic power tools safely.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, including the ability to explain options and manage expectations professionally.
  • Good time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple appointments and work independently.
  • Physical capability to lift, carry, and install window treatments and work safely on ladders or step stools.
  • Comfort with using mobile devices or basic software for scheduling, reporting, and documenting completed work.
  • This position would be 3-4 days a week paying a day rate plus mileage - negotiable.
  • Previous experience in carpentry, home improvement, or similar installation roles is beneficial. Would suit a Hillarys or Ex Hillarys shutter fitter.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for on-site fittings, use of own van preferable.
