About the Role

We are currently seeking experienced and reliable Shuttering Carpenters to join a busy construction site located at Tilbury Docks, Essex. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and dismantling temporary wooden, steel, or plastic formwork/molds for wet concrete to form foundations, walls, columns, staircases, and beams.

Day Rate Equivalent: GBP240 - GBP250 per day

Key Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret, and work accurately from complex structural drawings and blueprints.
  • Measure, cut, assemble, and secure timber, plywood, and steel formwork for concrete pours (columns, slabs, walls, and beams).
  • Ensure all shuttering is level, aligned, fully reinforced, and capable of holding wet concrete.
  • Safely dismantle (strip) formwork once the concrete has fully cured.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering strictly to site health and safety procedures.

Key Requirements

  • Valid Blue CSCS Skilled Worker Card (Formwork / Shuttering Carpentry preferred).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience as a Shuttering Carpenter on UK commercial or infrastructure sites.
  • Own full set of hand/power tools and standard PPE.
  • High level of physical fitness suitable for heavy manual labor outdoors.
  • Strong communication skills, punctuality, and reliability.
