Job Title: Shuttering Carpenter / Formwork Carpenter
Location: Tilbury, Essex
Rate: GBP23.00 - GBP26.00 per hour
Duration: Ongoing / End of year
About The Role
We are looking for experienced Shuttering Carpenters to join a major civil engineering project in Tilbury. You will be working on reinforced concrete structures, responsible for constructing high-quality timber and system formwork according to engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Constructing and installing timber formwork, panel systems (e.g., Peri, Doka, MEVA), columns, beams, and slab decks.
- Reading and working directly from technical drawings and structural blueprints.
- Securing formwork with ties, anchors, and props to withstand concrete pouring.
- Stripping (striking) formwork safely after concrete curing.
- Maintaining high standards of site safety and structural quality.

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Shuttering / Formwork Carpenter on commercial or civil sites.
- Relevant trade qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Formwork, CSCS Blue/Gold Card, or equivalent national certs).
- Full set of hand tools and 110V/cordless power tools suitable for formwork.
- Strong understanding of site safety protocols (SSTS/SMSTS desirable but not essential).
- Valid work authorization and checkable site references.
