Salary: £30,000–£45,000 per year, depending on experience

Location: London & South East, with our headquarters in Wrotham, Kent
Employment: Full-time, permanent
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Job Description
The Shutter Studio is a family-run specialist in shutters, blinds, fly screens, and awnings, covering London and the South East. We have been operating since 2011 and have grown to become recognised as one of the most respected companies within our industry.
We are looking for an experienced installer who takes pride in their workmanship and enjoys delivering an excellent customer experience. The role would suit someone who is practical, reliable, and personable, with strong attention to detail and the ability to achieve a high-quality finish.
You will visit customers in their homes and commercial properties, installing our products carefully and professionally. Previous experience installing shutters and/or blinds is essential. Experience with fly screens, awnings, and motorised products would be an advantage, with training provided to develop your knowledge across our range.
As a key representative of The Shutter Studio, you will help customers feel confident in their purchase and leave them delighted with the finished installation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Installing shutters, blinds, fly screens, and awnings in residential and commercial properties across London and the South East.
- Reviewing job instructions, measurements, and product specifications before starting work.
- Checking products and ensuring you have the correct tools, fixings, and equipment for each installation.
- Completing installations accurately and efficiently, with excellent attention to alignment, operation, and finishing.
- Protecting customers’ homes and belongings, keeping your work area tidy and cleaning up thoroughly on completion.
- Explaining how to operate and care for the products, including demonstrating motorised controls where applicable.
- Identifying and resolving fitting challenges, seeking support from the operations team when needed.
- Carrying out adjustments, remedial work, and aftercare visits.
- Working closely with our operations, surveying, and customer service teams to ensure a smooth customer experience.
- Recording completed work, taking installation photographs, and reporting any outstanding issues accurately.
- Looking after tools, equipment, and company property, and working safely at all times.

About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience installing shutters and/or blinds.
- Strong practical skills and confidence using hand and power tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing a professional finish.
- A friendly, professional manner and good customer service skills.
- The ability to solve practical problems and use their initiative.
- Good organisation and time management, with a reliable approach to appointments.
- The confidence to work independently and contribute as part of a team.
- The ability to follow technical instructions and installation specifications.
- Confidence using a smartphone or tablet to access job information and record completed work.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Experience in carpentry or joinery would be advantageous, as would experience installing motorised blinds, fly screens, or awnings.
