FASTSIGNS Sheffield has been supporting local businesses with custom signage solutions since 1995, helping them stand out with eye-catching visual communication. The team provides end-to-end services, including consultation, design, production, and installation. Solutions range from small-format items like business cards to digital screens and large illuminated building signs. Signage experts work closely with customers to understand their goals and create tailored signage that supports business growth and brand visibility.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Sign Fitter role based in Sheffield. The Sign Fitter will install a wide range of interior and exterior signage, including panels, illuminated signs, vinyl graphics, and digital displays, at customer locations and on company premises.   • Preparing materials
  • Using hand and power tools
  • Following technical drawings
  • Ensuring all installations are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule

The role also involves:

  • Working closely with the production and design teams
  • Loading and unloading signs
  • Maintaining vehicles and equipment
  • Interacting professionally with customers on-site

The Sign Fitter is expected to follow health and safety procedures, keep work areas tidy, and support occasional maintenance or repair of existing signage.

Qualifications

  • Strong practical skills in using hand and power tools, with the ability to read and follow technical drawings and measurements.
  • Experience installing signage, shopfitting, or similar construction/installation work, including working at height using ladders or access equipment.
  • Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to complete accurate, high-quality work to customer specifications.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a professional approach when working on customer premises.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety practices, including safe manual handling and working safely with electrical and illuminated signage.
  • Full, valid driving licence and willingness to travel locally for installations.
  • Ability to manage time, follow schedules, and adapt to changing priorities or multiple projects.

Previous experience in signage, construction, carpentry, or a related trade is beneficial; relevant vocational training or certifications are an advantage.
