Role Description
The Sign Maker will produce and install a variety of signage and exhibition materials, including internal and external signs, vinyl graphics, panels, and displays. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Reading and interpreting design specifications
- Operating relevant machinery and tools
- Preparing materials for printing, cutting, and assembly
- Accurate measuring, layout, and finishing work
- Loading, transporting, and installing signage on client sites while following safety procedures

The role involves:
- Collaborating with designers, project managers, and other production staff to meet deadlines and quality standards
- Helping maintain a tidy, safe workshop environment
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Blackburn.
Qualifications
- Experience in sign making, fabrication, or a similar hands-on production role, including use of hand tools and workshop equipment
- Ability to read and interpret design drawings and measurements, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with vinyl application, graphics installation, and basic finishing techniques for signs and displays
- Comfort working on ladders, platforms, and at client sites, with a strong focus on health and safety practices
- Basic computer skills; experience with design or layout software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW) is an advantage
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to installation locations when required
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and manage time effectively
- Previous experience in signage, exhibitions, print, or a related industry is beneficial; relevant vocational training or apprenticeship is a plus
