Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The opportunity

As a Simulation and Modelling Engineer, you will be a key part of MBDA's development process, helping to develop the models that are critical to ensuring our products perform perfectly from their initial development to field deployment. We work closely with other teams and partners to integrate their models into ours, and running them through numerous test suites to ensure they are suitable for use in further development.

You'll be working alongside a team of well-developed engineers, where you will:

  • Develop and validate high-fidelity models using MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Partner with systems teams and other departments to help bring complex simulations to life and ensure all flaws in a design are found well before they reach the real world.
  • Use real-life data to tune and refine models to better match the real world.
  • Grow under the mentorship of senior engineers, to expand your technical capabilities to prepare you for larger, more challenging projects and long-term career advancement.

What we're looking for

We are ideally looking for a candidate with a curious mind and a strong foundation in engineering skills. You would be an ideal fit if:

  • You have a degree-level understanding of dynamic systems and/or mathematical modelling.
  • You have had experience with modelling languages or programs before.
  • You are familiar with the concepts of version control tools such as EWM or Git, even if you have not used them previously.
  • You have good communication skills and are comfortable with discussing complex technical ideas to different stakeholders.
