As we continue to expand our engineering capabilities, we are developing a dedicated vehicle simulator facility, incorporating a 6-DOF motion platform, dedicated simulator room with audio-visual systems, control room and industry-standard simulation software.
The facility will support driver training, vehicle development and a growing range of commercial and motorsport projects.
What you will be doing:
Working as part of our Development team within Engineering, you will be responsible for managing the daily operation of BPA's simulator facility while helping us develop its technical capability and commercial offering.
This is a varied role combining simulator operation, software development, data analysis, vehicle dynamics and customer interaction.
You will work closely with our Engineering and Business Development teams to support driver training, customer programmes and vehicle development, while identifying opportunities to further enhance the simulator's functionality.
Depending on your experience, there may also be opportunities to contribute to wider engineering and future mobility projects across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation, preparation and configuration of the vehicle simulator facility for internal and external programmes.
- Support the commissioning, development and optimisation of the simulator, including software, systems integration and data functionality.
- Develop and maintain software tools, scripts, plugins and applications where required.
- Analyse simulator and vehicle data to support vehicle development, testing and performance activities.
- Support customers, drivers and engineering partners, ensuring a professional and high-quality experience.
- Work with Engineering and Business Development to support new enquiries, commercial simulator programmes and future capability development.
- Help integrate simulator activity with physical vehicle testing, vehicle dynamics and wider engineering projects.
- Maintain the simulator facility, equipment and associated systems to a high technical and professional standard.

What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with a background in vehicle performance, simulation and software who enjoys combining technical engineering with practical problem solving.
Essential
- Degree-level qualification in Engineering, Automotive, Motorsport, Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Experience or a strong understanding of driving/vehicle simulators, including hardware, software and system integration.
- Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, vehicle performance and vehicle physics, ideally gained within automotive, motorsport or high-performance engineering.
- Experience with vehicle simulation, physical testing, data analysis and/or correlation between simulated and real-world vehicle performance.
- Understanding of full-vehicle simulation, suspension kinematics or Driver-in-the-Loop simulation would be advantageous.
- Experience or an interest in software development, including writing or modifying Windows-based scripts, plugins or applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret engineering and vehicle data.
- A good understanding of vehicle design and vehicle physics.
- Experience of using quality management tools and systems.
- Comfortable taking ownership of technical projects and working independently within a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Previous customer-facing engineering or technical consultancy experience would be beneficial.
