Company Description

Breakthrough technology is vital for strengthening the UK’s Defence & Homeland Security. As an Experienced Consultant at Awerian, you will be at the forefront of this innovation race by helping to defend and protect the UK from the latest technological and cyber threats.

Job Description

Your work will have a real-world impact. You will get to explore pioneering concepts by collaborating with elite multi-disciplinary teams of highly educated and skilled scientists, engineers, and designers. You’ll see ideas become a reality as you create prototypes through Awerian’s rapid approach to design and implementation. It’s a fantastically challenging, varied, and agile role.

As a Simulation and Modelling Engineer, you will be modelling and analysing complex systems and the interaction between them using MATLAB / Simulink based tools. You will draw on your problem solving and engineering skills to build and develop mathematical models of complex systems.

You may have an academic background in Electronics, Physics, or Mathematics and will have industry experience. Defence experience is an advantage, but we will consider candidates from all sectors.

Your problem-solving skills will be enhanced as you tackle complex engineering challenges that test your deep understanding of engineering fundamentals and physical principles. You will also have many opportunities to expand your skillset into different areas, based on what interests you.

You will have experience in:

  • Model-based systems engineering
  • Developing Physics based models of systems and the interactions between them
  • System architecture, engineering principles, and processes
  • Test bench development
  • Code revision and review

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
