Simulation Software Engineer - Fully remote
C++ | HPC | Distributed Systems | CI/CD | Software Architecture | Performance Optimisation | Build Systems
We’re working with a pioneering motorsport technology provider that's transforming how top-tier race teams unlock vehicle performance. Their advanced simulation tools are used at the highest levels of the sport — including Formula E, IndyCar, WEC, and Formula 1. We are seeking a Simulation Software Engineer to help design, develop and optimise high-performance their software used in complex motorsport engineering environments.
This role would suit a motivated software engineer with a background in C++ development, high-performance computing (HPC), simulation, real-time systems, gaming technology, control systems, or scientific software. You will play a key role in shaping software architecture, improving performance and reliability, and driving engineering best practice across the development lifecycle.
What You'll Be Doing
- Architecting and developing scalable simulation software platforms
- Enhancing software performance, modularity, testability and maintainability
- Contributing to code reviews, technical discussions and software design decisions
- Supporting and improving build systems, development pipelines and CI/CD processes
- Developing testing, benchmarking and deployment tooling for HPC environments
- Working with modern software development practices and emerging AI-assisted development tools
- Mentoring junior engineers and promoting engineering best practice

Technical Requirements
Applicants should have experience with most of the following:
- Commercial software development experience in C++
- Strong understanding of software design principles and architecture
- Source control, code review and collaborative development workflows
- Build systems, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
- Performance optimisation and debugging
- Interest in distributed systems, HPC clusters and hardware-level optimisation
Experience with C, Rust, Zig, containerisation, cross-platform deployment or low-level performance tuning would be advantageous.

Desirable Backgrounds
We are particularly interested in candidates from:
- High-performance computing
- Simulation and modelling software
- Video game or graphics engine development
- Real-time systems
- Control systems engineering
- Scientific or engineering software development
Previous experience leading projects, owning technical systems, or mentoring engineers would be beneficial. Interest in motorsport and/or professional experience in motorsport, data science, vehicle engineering, or another related industry.
What's on Offer
- Salary range £55,000 - £85,000 dependent on experience level (appointment can be made from Software Engineer up to Lead Software Engineer level)
- Fully remote working and flexible hours that suit you (you really can work anywhere – some of them team base themselves from ski resorts, others from the beach)
