Field Support Representative (Simulation Training)
Location: Bovington, Dorset with UK travel
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Field Support Representative (FSR) to support the delivery of military simulation training and provide technical support across a range of advanced training systems.
This role would suit a technically minded individual with a military background who enjoys working independently, building strong customer relationships, and solving technical problems. You will become the key on-site representative, supporting training delivery, equipment maintenance, and customer engagement across various military training environments.
Working primarily from Bovington, you will play a critical role in ensuring simulation equipment remains operational and available for training activities while providing first-class support to military instructors and users.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and effective training on simulation equipment at customer locations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for instructors, trainees, and military stakeholders during training activities.
- Conduct routine maintenance, fault finding, troubleshooting, and system health checks.
- Provide second and third-line support, escalating technical issues where required.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and end users.
- Support training exercises by advising on how simulation systems can best achieve training objectives.
- Produce post-exercise reports and provide feedback on system performance.
- Conduct site visits and identify resources required to support successful training delivery.
- Assist with testing, installation, upgrades, modifications, and new-site setup activities.
- Monitor equipment performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the onboarding and mentoring of new team members as required.

What We're Looking For
- Previous UK Armed Forces experience.
- Strong technical aptitude with experience in troubleshooting equipment and systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
- Experience interacting with users, identifying faults, and resolving technical issues.
- Able to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively.
- Highly organised with strong planning and prioritisation skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Eligible to obtain SC Security Clearance.
Desirable
- Royal Signals, REME, Royal Engineers, Electronic Warfare, Communications or other technical military backgrounds.
- Experience supporting military communications, C4I/C4ISR or networked systems.
- Experience delivering training or instructing within a military environment.
- Experience using simulation systems and synthetic training environments.
- Knowledge of VBS4 or similar simulation software.
- Mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering experience.
- Experience supporting hardware, software or training systems in a field-based environment.

The Ideal Candidate
You will be a dependable and self-sufficient individual who is comfortable working remotely from the wider team while maintaining excellent levels of communication and customer engagement.
You will be confident building relationships with military personnel, resolving technical issues, and ensuring critical training systems remain available and operational. Most importantly, you will take ownership of problems, be proactive in finding solutions, and act as a professional ambassador whilst supporting customers across the UK.
