Simulator Engineer
Take ownership of complex simulator equipment that sits at the centre of advanced defence testing. Build broad engineering expertise across multiple disciplines while developing your career in a highly specialised environment where no two challenges are quite the same.
Essential requirements
- British Citizen able to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance
- Practical engineering experience within mechanical, electrical, controls or electro-mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Hands-on fault-finding and maintenance experience
- Comfortable working as part of a collaborative engineering team
What is in it for you
- Up to £46,000 depending on experience plus an annual performance bonus of up to £2,500.
What you will be doing
- Maintain and support advanced hardware-in-the-loop simulation equipment used in defence environments
- Diagnose faults and return critical engineering systems to service following breakdowns
- Support equipment upgrades, modifications and obsolescence management activities
- Assist with installation, commissioning and acceptance of new engineering systems
- Improve equipment reliability, availability and maintainability through proactive engineering activities
- Work across hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, motion control and simulation technologies

Your experience
- Experience in one or more areas such as hydraulics, servo-hydraulic systems, control systems, motion control or electro-mechanical equipment
- Strong practical engineering and fault-finding capability
- Experience using workshop tools and test equipment
- Ability to investigate unfamiliar technical problems methodically
- HNC, HND, apprenticeship or degree in an engineering discipline
- Exposure to CAD tools would be beneficial but is not essential

- Hybrid working with four days per week on site due to the nature of the work.
