Job Description

Role overview

The Ops Governance & Risk Oversight Team forms part of the wider Operational Service Management & Oversight Team.

The Ops Governance & Risk Oversight Team plays a critical role in the oversight of Operations to ensure they operate within established guidelines and risk tolerance, and to provide key reporting to stakeholders, along with ensuring our regulatory responsibilities have been met.

As the TrinityBridge SIPP Governance & Risk Oversight Executive, you will be reporting directly into the Ops Governance & Risk Oversight Manager.

As Executive, you will be responsible for delivery day-today activities within the Ops Governance & Risk Oversight Team, specifically, activity for the TrinityBridge SIPP Governance & Risk Oversight.

This role will be a 12 month Fixed Term Contract, with a view to leading to a permanent position.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the line manager with Management Information and Reporting regarding the Team
  • Support the line manager with maintenance of Team artefacts: Process Matrix; Standard Operating Processes (SOPs) and Procedures
  • Support Line Manager in the coordination of critical reporting / input to the TrinityBridge SIPP Committee
  • Support Line Manager in the Annual TrinityBridge SIPP Procedure Oversight across Operations.
  • Support Line Manager in TrinityBridge SIPP Crisis Management coordination i.e. Important Business Services (IBS), Business Continuity Process (BCP and Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
  • First line oversight and challenge to the Operational risk and control framework – oversight of TrinityBridge SIPP risk event management process, FCA breach notifications and RCSA reviews
  • Support Line Manger in Audit co-ordination, support and reporting
  • Support Regulatory Oversight – ensuring that regulatory reporting e.g. Tax Returns, Event Report, Pension Scheme Return, Scheme Return, Product Sales Data (PSD), REP015 & REP016 Return
  • Support coordination of TrinityBridge SIPP Contract activity and due diligence
  • Support Technical SIPP queries from the Business
  • Support production and analysis of TrinityBridge SIPP MI, interpret risk event MI to present findings to Operations managers and senior managers including key control failures and proposals for improvement and maintain risk event reporting dashboard to ensure reporting is accurate
  • Attend oversight committee meetings with Third Party Providers, such as Dunstan Thomas – review quarterly MI and annual due diligence packs and provide challenge to ensure all activities are being performed as required by TrinityBridge
  • Support wider Ops Governance & Risk Oversight activity across Operational Risk Event Management, Risk Event Reporting, Risk Event Training, Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Audits, Regulatory Reporting, Market Data, Team Admin.

Regulatory responsibilities | Compliance/T&C

Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the regulatory framework relevant to the role, whilst practising effective risk management taking account of outcomes for clients. Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business. Follow principles and rules of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the internal requirements set out in the Compliance Manual, local and Group Compliance and Risk policies.

About you | Qualifications, skills and strengths

Previous experience of operational processes at a Wealth Manager or within Private Client Asset Management. Previous experience in a SIPP technical role would be beneficial but is not essential. Good knowledge and understanding of SIPP structures and administration, UK pension tax legislation and HMRC rules & FCA regulatory environment (including Consumer Duty) Awareness of CASS rules as they relate to cash and asset safety within a custody environment

  • Prioritisation - Ability to identify and focus on the most important tasks, ensuring that resources and time are allocated effectively to achieve key objectives
  • Ops Risk Management - Identifying potential risks to service delivery
  • Relationship Management - Builds credibility and strong relationships with key internal/external stakeholders
  • Client focused - A commitment to understanding our client’s needs
  • Strong Decision Making - Make informed decisions under pressure, balancing the needs of the clients, stakeholders, organisation
  • Problem Solving - Quickly and effectively solving problems that arise in service delivery
  • Data Analysis - Ability to analyse Mi (e.g. SLA/KPI) to identify Trends, issues, and areas for improvement
  • Technical Acumen - Understanding of Technology Stack and services offered
  • Process Improvements - Actively engages and drives with change initiatives (and sees the benefits of change)
