Internal Applicants Only

To be a leader on the Acute Medical Unit is about being part of something special, which is why we need amazing people who stand out from the crowd. Real professionals who are adaptable to new roles, responsive to change and always looking to improve and develop innovative practice.

We can offer training, flexibility, friendliness and a caring environment in which to work and provide a large number of staff benefits, which you will find listed in the additional information link attached to the vacancy.

We are not just any Acute Medical Team, and we are not just looking for anyone to join us. The Acute Medical Unit is a fast-paced 32 bedded medical ward, including a 3 bed Medical Enhanced Care Unit. We care for Acutely unwell Medical patients, some requiring highly specialist care, but with a predicted length of stay of less than 72 hours. Due to an increased workforce plan for Band 6, we now have the opportunity to add an extra Band 6 Sister or Charge Nurse to our Ward Leadership Team for a 1 year secondment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
