We are looking for an experienced and motivated Site Agent to join our team on the PTNO/PTC1 (Pentir to Trawsfynydd) Project, supporting the delivery of a major National Grid substation scheme in North Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a high-profile project within the rapidly growing electricity transmission sector.

Supporting the Project Manager and Site Manager, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of all civil engineering works on site, managing a small delivery team, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and performance are achieved throughout the project lifecycle.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the delivery of all civil engineering activities associated with the substation project.
  • Support the Project Manager and Site Manager in achieving project objectives and programme milestones.
  • Manage and coordinate the civils delivery team, providing leadership and technical guidance.
  • Ensure all works are delivered in compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Oversee temporary works planning, coordination, and implementation.
  • Manage subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
  • Monitor project programmes and progress, identifying and addressing potential risks and delays.
  • Ensure quality management processes are implemented and maintained throughout delivery.
  • Support commercial management activities, including accurate record keeping and reporting.
  • Coordinate site activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and client requirements.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and drive continuous improvement across the project team.
  • Consult with project stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • ICE membership or working towards professional accreditation is preferred.
  • Proven experience working as a Site Agent on civil engineering projects.
  • Experience overseeing the delivery of complex construction works.
  • Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements within construction.
  • Practical experience in: Reinforced concrete (FRC) works, Ducting installation and Drainage construction.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and site delivery teams.
  • Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage programme, quality, and commercial aspects of project delivery.
  • Experience working on EHV electrical substation projects.
  • Experience working within highly regulated or controlled environments.
  • Understanding of National Grid standards and requirements.
  • Crane Appointed Person (AP) qualification.
  • Experience planning and coordinating lifting operations.
  • Familiarity with major infrastructure, utilities, or energy projects.

Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground.
