About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Site Agent to join our Rail team and take a leading role in the delivery of a significant new phase of works on the Metrowest project.
This is an exciting opportunity for a construction professional with proven railway station experience to lead the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of works on site. As the construction lead for a key railway station project, you will play a pivotal role in managing programme, quality, commercial performance and stakeholder relationships while ensuring successful project outcomes.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating site activities, leading site teams and driving performance across all aspects of delivery.
About The Role
As Site Agent, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of railway station construction works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, to programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the delivery of railway station construction activities on site.
- Managing site operations to ensure safe, efficient and compliant project execution.
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour resources.
- Supporting the Project Manager in achieving project objectives and key milestones.
- Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with programme requirements.
- Driving quality standards through effective inspection, testing and assurance processes.
- Managing project risks and implementing mitigation measures where required.
- Monitoring project performance and reporting progress to key stakeholders.
- Working closely with commercial teams to maximise project performance and control costs.
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and operational teams.
- Ensuring compliance with Network Rail standards, company procedures and health and safety requirements.
- Leading site briefings, planning meetings and progress reviews.
- Promoting a positive safety culture and driving continuous improvement across the project.

Essential Experience
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working as a Site Agent within a rail environment.
- Demonstrable experience delivering railway station construction projects.
- Strong project management and site leadership skills.
- Experience managing quality assurance and quality management processes.
- Sound commercial awareness with a strong understanding of cost and contract management.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary construction teams and subcontractors.
- Proven ability to deliver projects safely, on programme and within budget.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification.
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
- Appointed Person (AP) qualification.
- MICE chartership or working towards chartership would be advantageous but is not essential.
