Job Description: Experienced Site Agent

Finlay Jude Associates are recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering and infrastructure contractor for an experienced Site Agent to join their Construction and Project delivery teams, to be assigned to a project or section within their programme of work.

The role will be site based and will be covering various sites and projects across Manchester, Derbyshire, and Lancashire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Have detailed working knowledge and experience of project management practices from scheme conception through to end-user acceptance.
  • Safety and Quality: Promote exceptional safety and delivery quality standards to direct and subcontracted workforce.
  • BMS Implementation: Ensuring that the BMS is implemented at all stages throughout the project delivery process, i.e., from tender handover to final completion.
  • Client Relationships: Maintain good client relationships at all levels.
  • Company Reputation: Maintain the company’s reputation on a project by ensuring good relationships are maintained with joint venture partners and suppliers.
  • Personnel Management: Ensuring that sufficient trained personnel are available for the project and that they are aware of their individual responsibilities.
  • Project Planning: Planning projects, including reviewing and approving the Project Execution Plan (PEP), and then monitoring and controlling the delivery of projects.
  • Documentation: Ensuring that appropriately detailed construction plans and method statements are prepared, in place, and approved prior to commencement of activities. Ensuring that at contract completion all records referred to in the PEP are complete and available.
  • Cost Management: Ensuring that all site non-conformities are reported and approximate costs identified.
  • Commercial Management: Ensure all commercial aspects of the project are managed in a timely and proactive way giving accurate forecast and estimates.
  • Professional Development: Ensure your own continuous professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/associations/groups, to stay current on industry changes and innovations.
  • Customer Focus: Being aware of the need to satisfy customer requirements with the aim of enhancing the customers’ perception and satisfaction.
  • Technical Knowledge: Maintain an appropriate practical knowledge and appreciation of all technical disciplines associated with delivering water and wastewater design and build projects.

About You

  • Experience: Project Management experience in managing multi-disciplinary design and construction projects, ideally within the water industry.
  • Qualifications: Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction, commercial, or engineering-related discipline. Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent.
  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communicator with the ability to work in close partnership with clients, stakeholders, and end users.
  • Leadership: Must be delivery driven with the ability to set targets and manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver to time, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Skills: Strategic, operational, technical, and management skills.
  • Contract Knowledge: Knowledge of Construction Contracts, ideally NEC and/or IChemE, with ability to negotiate and administer.
  • Presentation: Ability to present at MWHT Governance Reviews in a leading capacity.
  • Risk Management: Risk & Opportunity Management experience.
  • Safety Knowledge: Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety.

  • Experience in water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Chartered with an engineering, commercial, or construction institution.
  • NEC Project Manager Accreditation.
