About the Role
JGL is seeking an experienced and proactive Site Agent to lead the delivery of a key civil engineering project in Luton. The successful candidate will oversee all site operations, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This role offers the opportunity to manage challenging groundwork, piling, and reinforced concrete construction works while leading site teams and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of all site activities.
- Lead site teams, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with design specifications and programme requirements.
- Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance.
- Coordinate piling operations and shaft construction activities.
- Monitor project progress and implement measures to achieve key milestones.
- Review and manage RAMS, permits, temporary works, and inspection records.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, local authorities, and project stakeholders.
- Manage site resources, plant, materials, and labour efficiently.
- Produce progress reports and maintain accurate site records.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve site issues proactively.

Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Agent on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of deep excavations, piling works, and reinforced concrete construction.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple work fronts.
- Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality management systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Qualifications
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- SMSTS Certification.
- CSCS Card.
- Temporary Works Coordinator qualification.
- First Aid at Work.
- Experience working under NEC contracts.
