Site Agent
Hindley, Manchester - UK

We are seeking an experienced Site Agent to join a major rail infrastructure project in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of a high-profile project, managing site operations to ensure works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading site teams, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring compliance with engineering and safety standards, and driving project performance across all areas including health & safety, quality, programme, and cost control.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site operations to ensure successful project delivery.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with contract drawings, specifications, and engineering requirements.
- Produce and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance on site.
- Lead site teams and subcontractors to deliver works safely, efficiently, and to programme.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where required.
- Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
- Liaise with Site Foremen, Engineers, clients, and project stakeholders on a daily basis.
- Resolve technical and operational issues to maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Develop and monitor short-term and long-term construction programmes.
- Ensure quality assurance procedures are implemented and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project risks and implement mitigation plans in line with company procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and share lessons learned across the project team.
- Maintain accurate site records, reporting, and project documentation.
- Ensure all personnel receive the necessary training, briefings, and support to carry out their duties effectively.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualification.
- First Aid at Work certification preferred.
- Temporary Works Coordinator qualification desirable.
- PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification desirable.
- Proven experience as a Site Agent within the rail or major infrastructure sector.
- Strong background in civil engineering and construction project delivery.
- Experience managing subcontractors, direct labour, and multidisciplinary site teams.
- Thorough understanding of project planning, programme management, and commercial awareness.
- Knowledge of Network Rail standards and rail infrastructure projects is advantageous.
