St James Academy is seeking a proactive and reliable Site Assistant to join our academy team and play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Site Manager and Business Manager, you will support the day-to-day operation of the school site, including:
- Security duties
- Opening and closing the premises
- Acting as a key holder
- Assisting with health and safety compliance
- Ensuring school buildings and grounds are well maintained
This is a varied, hands-on role requiring a practical individual who can manage minor repairs, support emergency procedures, oversee deliveries, and contribute to the smooth running of the school.

Since joining the Trust, St James is the most improved school in the Borough for grades achieved at GCSE and for passing Maths and English at Grade 5 or above. In fact, the proportion of learners achieving Grade 5 or higher in both English and Mathematics has doubled!
An increasing number of departments have achieved 100% GCSE pass rates, and our ambition is that this should extend to every area as quickly as possible.
