Site Construction Manager

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Construction Manager to join a growing engineering business delivering complex projects across the power generation and industrial sectors.
This is a hands-on and varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in dynamic site environments, leading teams and subcontractors, solving problems and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.
Site Construction Manager Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and manage day to day site construction activities
- Ensure projects remain on schedule and are delivered in line with business objectives
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, materials, equipment and resources
- Carry out site surveys and condition assessments of existing gas turbine auxiliary equipment
- Lead and manage on-site teams and subcontractors
- Monitor workmanship and material quality throughout projects
- Complete risk assessments and ensure all required safety documentation is in place
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 and relevant health and safety standards
- Conduct regular site inspections and address any safety concerns or issues
- Act as the main point of contact between clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams
- Identify and resolve site issues to keep projects on track
- Provide regular project progress updates and maintain accurate site documentation
- Record and report safety audits, incidents and corrective actions
- Support budget control and effective allocation of resources
- Carry out detailed equipment assessments to support project planning and risk mitigation
- Ensure turnkey projects are delivered in accordance with NEC3 and NEC4 contract requirements
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety and compliance across all site activities

Site Construction Manager Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Site Construction Management
- Experience within power generation, gas transmission, refining or a similar industrial environment
- Experience within the gas turbine and/or air intake industry would be highly advantageous
- HNC/D in Engineering, Project Management, Operations or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts and CDM regulations
- Good understanding of construction management processes and relevant regulations
- Experience with engineering principles, fabrication techniques and interpreting technical drawings
- Confident carrying out risk assessments and implementing appropriate safety procedures
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Good communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage a range of stakeholders
- Comfortable working under pressure and managing competing priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and MS Project
- Experience using ERP systems; Epicor would be advantageous
- Flexible and adaptable approach to working in changing site environments
- Willingness to travel extensively and work on-site for extended periods
- Full UK driving licence is essential

Site Construction Manager Working Hours and Benefits
- Full-time position involving extensive travel to various project locations
- Will be required to travel to customer sites, including overnight stays and, on occasion, extended periods away from home
- Overtime is also payable when working off-site, where applicable
