Role Overview
We are looking for a site Continuous Improvement Manager in our Sustainable Distribution Centre (NN7 2QA).
Working collaboratively with operational teams, you will coach and support colleagues in developing continuous improvement capability and delivering sustainable operational excellence, focusing on developing and managing resource planning, labour allocation, and space utilisation tools within a multi-client, multi-site setting. You will be responsible for implementing initiatives that enhance YLUK’s performance across various functions, contracts, and systems through robust solutions that improve capability, increase reliability, and reduce waste.
Key Responsibilities
Resource Management & Planning
- Assist in optimising resource planning processes and managing operational costs to ensure efficiency and financial control.
- Manage space utilisation across multiple clients, on-site and remote storage facilities
Continuous Improvement
- Co-ordinate the organisation’s Continuous Improvement activities to provide broader business benefit and a centralised focus and establish a reporting method for these projects.
- Determine and introduce training and development for individuals involved in the management and delivery of CI projects.
- Deliver CI initiatives that result in improved financial performance for the site.
- Deliver CI initiatives that result in cost savings for customers.
- Deliver CI initiatives that support company/site ESG benefits.

Kaizen
- Proactively identify continuous improvement opportunities and achieve target savings through Kaizen.
- Co-ordinate with contract / operational managers to establish process improvements.
- Effectively utilise tools such as Lean Thinking, Six Sigma methodologies, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Support implementation projects where process improvement is in scope.
First-Time Accuracy
- Create ownership and capability development at sites, supporting site teams to coach and train tools and principles that build and embed a Right First Time / Lean culture.
- Liaise with UK and regional/global CI managers to leverage and share best practices.
- Maintain and develop excellent working relationships with customers and strive to recommend and develop improvements in services offered.
Data Analysis
- Support contracts with the extraction and compilation of standard and ad hoc reports.
- Analyse data patterns to provide insights and trends to internal and external stakeholders.
What You Will Bring To The Role:
- Extensive overall logistics management experience, preferably in a 3/4PL environment.
- A proven track record of delivering significant, sustained business performance improvements.
- Core CI skills and experience (Lean, Kaizen, Green Belt).
- Experience in detailed operational reporting and variance analysis tools.
- Experience in producing reports within a multiple-client site environment.
- Ability to influence and constructively challenge stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrable experience of developing and applying Lean and process improvement tools and techniques in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to understand complex information and concepts quickly and communicate them clearly.
- Project management experience.
- Strong stakeholder and change management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Data analysis skills.
