We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Site Engineer to join our team, supporting the delivery of major high-voltage infrastructure projects in the Inverness area of the Scottish Highlands. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing programme of energy infrastructure works, contributing to the expansion of critical network projects and helping shape the future of the UK's energy sector.
As a key member of the site management team, you will play a vital role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of construction activities, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Role Responsibilities
- Support the planning, scheduling, and coordination of construction activities to ensure successful project delivery.
- Conduct setting out and surveying activities, ensuring works are constructed in accordance with design specifications.
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of risk assessments and method statements.
- Support the management and coordination of site resources, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Monitor progress on site and provide accurate updates to project teams and management.
- Maintain comprehensive site records, quality documentation, and project reports.
- Assist with the management and coordination of temporary works activities.
- Prepare and manage as-built records and handover documentation.
- Promote and maintain a positive health, safety, environmental, and quality culture on site.
- Collaborate closely with construction, engineering, and commercial teams to resolve technical issues and improve project performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and the efficient delivery of project objectives.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Experience working as a Site Engineer within a construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, or utilities environment.
- HNC or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline.
- Experience conducting setting out and surveying activities on construction projects.
- Experience assisting with the preparation of risk assessments and method statements.
- Knowledge and understanding of temporary works processes and procedures.
- Proficiency in surveying and engineering software and technologies, including GPS, AutoCAD, and BIM systems.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, engineering principles, and site management practices.
- Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical challenges.
- Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental performance.
- Experience working on electrical infrastructure projects, including cabling and substations, is desirable but not essential.

About The Energy Business Unit
We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.
Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
