Site Engineer – WM Donald

About The Role
W M Donald Ltd is looking for an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join our team in the Aberdeen area.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of our construction and civil engineering projects, providing technical and engineering support from pre-start through to completion.
Working closely with the Engineering Manager, Contracts Manager and Site Supervisors, you will be responsible for setting out, maintaining site control, undertaking surveys, reviewing drawings and specifications, and ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and in accordance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain site control.
- Carry out setting out of roads, sewers, structures and other construction works.
- Undertake land, stockpile and construction surveys.
- Review project drawings, designs and specifications.
- Check that works are being carried out in accordance with approved designs, specifications and required standards.
- Assist with organising site facilities and setting up sites.
- Monitor progress to ensure projects meet agreed specifications and programme requirements.
- Prepare and maintain accurate site reports, drawings, surveys and as-built information.
- Provide technical advice and practical engineering solutions to site teams.
- Identify, investigate and resolve engineering issues, escalating where appropriate.
- Liaise with clients, client representatives, subcontractors and other professional staff.
- Attend pre-start and progress meetings as required.
- Liaise regularly with the Engineering Manager, Contracts Manager and Site Supervisors.
- Assess design changes received from clients and support the agreement of variations.
- Support Site Supervisors and site teams with technical and engineering requirements.

- CSCS Card.
- HNC in Civil Engineering or a related engineering subject.
- Relevant setting-out experience within the construction/civils industry.
- Good IT software and hardware knowledge.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Good problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet financial and company deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Experience using Microsoft 365.
