Site Engineer
Job Title – Site Engineer
Location – Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire
Salary – £40,000
Shift – Monday to Friday, 05:30 – 13:30
Job Role of the Site Engineer
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Site Engineer to join a well-established gluten-free bakery and confectionery manufacturer operating across multiple UK sites. This is an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled engineer who enjoys autonomy, responsibility, and working independently in a fast-paced food production environment.
You will be responsible for all site machinery and engineering support, reporting directly into the Factory Manager and Head of Engineering. This is a sole engineering role, ideal for someone confident working alone while still maintaining high engineering and safety standards across a busy production facility.
The site produces a range of bakery and confectionery products including pies, sausage rolls, brownies, and rocky road, with a variety of automated production and packaging equipment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
