We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Site Engineer to join our team, supporting the delivery of a range of exciting rail and civil engineering projects. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established framework and contribute to the successful delivery of schemes from design through to construction.
Working closely with experienced engineering and site management teams, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role offers the opportunity to develop your technical capabilities, gain valuable project experience, and progress your professional development within a supportive environment.
Role Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of rail and civil engineering projects from design through to completion.
- Conduct setting out activities and ensure works are delivered in accordance with design requirements.
- Assist with quality assurance and quality control processes, including inspections and record keeping.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, and environmental standards on site.
- Assist with the day-to-day management and coordination of construction activities.
- Work closely with Site Managers, Senior Engineers, Supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Monitor site progress and contribute to planning and problem-solving activities.
- Support the management and coordination of supply chain partners and subcontractors.
- Ensure all engineering and assurance documentation is completed accurately and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities across site operations.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Experience within civil engineering, rail engineering, or related infrastructure projects.
- Engineering and assurance experience gained on rail, civil engineering, or similar construction schemes.
- Knowledge of setting out techniques and associated surveying equipment.
- An understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes within a construction environment.
- Experience supporting the day-to-day delivery of site works and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
- A good understanding of health and safety requirements within construction or infrastructure projects.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across site teams.
- An initiative-taking approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
- An HNC (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- A desire to work towards or continue progression towards a professional qualification, such as ICE membership.
