Site Engineer - Highways Civils
Location: Chorley, Lancashire
Contract: 8-10 weeks
Start: Monday 5th October
Shift pattern: Day shifts
Rate: £350-£375 per day, CIS/Umbrella via Datum
Client: Tier 1 Highways Contractor
We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer to support a Tier 1 Highways Contractor on a civils package in Chorley. The role will focus on delivery of a car park and ducting works package, supporting the site team with setting out, quality control and day-to-day engineering requirements.
Responsibilities
- Set out works accurately for car park, drainage, ducting and associated civils activities.
- Establish and maintain site control, levels, line and setting-out data.
- Carry out quality checks, inspections, as-builts and survey records.
- Review drawings and raise technical queries or RFIs where required.
- Prepare and maintain ITPs, QA records, site diaries and engineering documentation.
- Support the Site Manager and Site Supervisor with planning, sequencing and coordination of labour, plant and subcontractors.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, to programme and in line with project specifications.

Requirements
- Proven Site Engineer experience on highways, civils, drainage, external works or infrastructure projects.
- Practical experience setting out car parks, roads, drainage, services or ducting.
- Competent using Leica/Trimble robotic total stations, GPS and level equipment.
- Strong QA, ITP, surveying and as-built experience.
- Valid CSCS essential; relevant highways or civils qualifications are advantageous.
- Available to start Monday 5 October and commit for the full 8-10 week assignment.
