Location: Bristol
Sphere Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Setting Out Site Engineer to join a well-established main contractor on a project in Bristol.
The contractor delivers a broad range of new build, fit-out and refurbishment projects, with a strong focus on quality, collaboration and technically challenging construction schemes.
The Role
Working closely with the Site Manager and wider project team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day engineering and setting out requirements on site.
Duties Will Include
- Setting out works accurately to drawings and specifications.
- Establishing and maintaining site controls, lines and levels.
- Carrying out checks and surveys as required.
- Working closely with site management and subcontractors.
- Reviewing drawings and identifying any technical issues.
- Raising technical queries where required.
- Maintaining accurate site records and as-built information.
- Supporting quality assurance and inspection processes.
- Monitoring works to ensure they are delivered accurately and to specification.
- Providing engineering support throughout the project.

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer / Site Engineer.
- Strong setting out experience within construction.
- Valid CSCS card – essential.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Good understanding of levels, coordinates and construction tolerances.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a wider site team.
- Experience with relevant surveying equipment.
- Surveying equipment is flexible, so candidates with experience using different total stations, GPS or robotic equipment will be considered.
