Senior Site Engineer
Location: Somerset
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum + Comprehensive Benefits Package

The Opportunity
Our client is one of the UK's leading Tier 1 main contractors, renowned for delivering some of the nation's most complex and high-profile building, civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Following the successful award of a landmark £4 billion infrastructure project in Somerset, they are expanding their engineering team and are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Site Engineer to play a key role in the successful delivery of this flagship development.
This is a rare opportunity to join an industry-leading contractor at the beginning of one of the UK's largest infrastructure schemes. The Role
As a Senior Site Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of major civil engineering and infrastructure works, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and to the highest quality standards.
Working alongside experienced project teams, you will utilise the latest surveying technology and engineering techniques while playing an integral role in driving quality, productivity and operational excellence across the project.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out setting out and surveying activities using the latest equipment and technology.
- Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, drawings and engineering standards.
- Monitor site progress, quality and productivity while maintaining strict compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors and design teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Produce and maintain accurate site records, quality documentation and as-built drawings.
- Conduct inspections and quality assurance checks throughout all phases of construction.
- Provide technical support and resolve engineering challenges as they arise on site.
- Assist in planning works and implementing innovative engineering solutions to maximise project efficiency.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Senior Site Engineer or Site Engineer on major civil engineering, infrastructure or building projects.
- Strong setting out and surveying experience using modern equipment and software.
- Excellent knowledge of construction methods, engineering standards and health and safety legislation.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent problem-solving ability with a keen eye for detail.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Full UK driving licence.
