Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, we are looking to recruit experienced Site Engineers to join our Construction team.
This is an excellent opportunity for motivated engineering professionals to play a key role in the successful delivery of highways, groundworks, drainage, and civil engineering projects. Working alongside Project Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors, and operational teams, you will be responsible for ensuring all works are accurately set out, constructed to specification, and delivered to the highest quality standards.
The Role
As a Site Engineer, you will take responsibility for the accurate setting out and technical control of construction works, ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with contract drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
You will monitor construction activities, maintain site records, support quality assurance processes, and collaborate with project teams to drive efficiency, minimise waste, and achieve successful project outcomes.

- Coordinate and verify subcontractor works against required dimensional and quality standards.
- Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings, Health & Safety files, and project handover documentation.
- Develop and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and quality control records.

- Support the implementation of environmental and sustainability initiatives on site.
- Assist with mentoring apprentices and graduate engineers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
