Job Title: Site Engineer

Location: Ellesmere Port

Salary: £45,000 + Package

Sector: Energy / Civils / Infrastructure

Works: Cable Laying & Substation Foundations

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join the team delivering a major energy infrastructure project in Ellesmere Port.

The project involves energy cable laying and the construction of substation foundations, providing an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer with a strong civils background to work on a significant infrastructure scheme.

The Site Engineer Role

As Site Engineer, you will provide engineering and technical support across the project, working closely with site management, subcontractors and the wider delivery team.

  • Responsible for setting out and surveying works associated with cable routes, excavations, ducting and substation foundations
  • Ensuring construction is completed accurately and in accordance with drawings and specifications
  • Establishing site controls, levels and coordinates
  • Producing as-built surveys
  • Interpreting technical drawings and resolving engineering queries on site
  • Supporting QA activities, ITPs, inspections and site documentation
  • Ensuring works meet the required safety, quality and engineering standards

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer
  • Strong civil engineering, setting-out and surveying experience
  • Experience with cable laying, utilities, substations, foundations, groundworks or energy infrastructure
  • Competent using Total Stations, GPS/GNSS and surveying equipment
  • Good understanding of drawings, levels, coordinates, tolerances and as-built documentation
  • Relevant Civil Engineering or Construction qualification
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 civil engineering contractor on major energy or infrastructure projects would be highly advantageous

£45,000 per annum + Package
