Site Engineer

Keep critical equipment running safely and efficiently. Join us as a Site Engineer in Chesterfield, where you’ll lead planned and reactive maintenance, projects, and technical support across our sites.

About Bodycote

At Bodycote, we’re more than the world’s leading provider of heat treatment and specialist thermal processing services. We’re a people business at heart. Our commitment to innovation and sustainability shapes everything we do. With a global footprint and a culture built on collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement, we create an environment where you can grow, contribute, and make a meaningful impact. Sustainability is central to our future. We’re on an ambitious journey to reduce our environmental impact through advanced technologies, smarter processes, and ongoing innovation, with our teams around the world playing a key role in making that happen.

The Role

As a Site Engineer, you’ll ensure the reliability, maintainability, and safety of site equipment and infrastructure. You’ll take ownership of planned and reactive maintenance, project support, and responding to equipment issues, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with health and safety standards.

This is a hands-on shift role that can be pressurised due to the need to repair equipment promptly. You’ll provide support across different sites when required, including holiday and sickness cover, reactive and planned maintenance, and projects. The role requires flexibility to respond to equipment and health and safety issues outside normal hours, work through breaks where necessary, stay late when required, and provide weekday and weekend callout cover as part of a rota.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
