Job Overview
Location: South Wales (on the road)
Salary: £35k - £45k + package
As a Site Engineer at Folly Contractors, you will help oversee multiple sites across South Wales, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This is a fantastic opportunity to assist with managing diverse projects while working with a dedicated team. Progression opportunities are available and a positive can-do ethos is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Site Role
- Assist with the Managing of multiple sites concurrently, ensuring all activities comply with health and safety regulations and construction best practices.
- Produce project RAMs.
Setting Out/Engineering
- You will be responsible for setting out a wide range of projects from complex play areas to sports pitches.
- Experience in use of a GPS system and Autocad would be beneficial, allowing you to adjust schemes, create setting out information and complete As Built surveys.
Team
- Assist with coordinating a team of staff, including site supervisors, subcontractors, and labourers, to achieve project goals.
Supplier & Contractor Assistance
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely procurement and delivery of materials, machinery, and services.

Resource Management
- Provide back up to Operations Manager and Project Manager in the location and utilization of machinery, materials, and labour across multiple sites to optimize efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all construction processes and installations adhere to the highest industry standards, carrying out regular inspections and quality checks.
Client Liaison
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any issues that may arise.
Reporting
- Prepare detailed reports on project status, assist commercial team with budget tracking, and site performance for senior management.
Project File Handover
- Produce as-built information and relevant O&M details to form handover files.
Requirements
- Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
- Suitable Setting Out/Engineering experience. Using GPS system and Autocad.
- Proven experience in multiple construction, civils or landscaping sites.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, health and safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Ability to produce RAMs and monitor them throughout a project.
- Preparing construction sites before building work starts.
- Setting out levels and site measurements for drainage systems, foundations, kerbs, and utilities.
- Coordinating with site managers, contractors, and other trades.
- Inspecting and maintaining groundwork quality standards.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage multiple teams across various sites.
- Experience in managing suppliers, contractors, and other external stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
- Full UK driving license (essential).
