Job Title: Setting Out Engineer

We are recruiting for a Setting Out Engineer to join a respected UK Groundworks, RC Frame & civil engineering contractor, working on a project in Barnet.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Setting Out Engineer who is passionate about delivering projects to the highest standard while advancing their career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting out for groundworks, drainage, foundations, RC frames and associated infrastructure.
  • Establishing and maintaining site control points and survey data.
  • Producing and maintaining accurate as-built surveys and records.
  • Interpreting and checking engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Carrying out QA/QC inspections and completing quality documentation.
  • Raising and managing RFIs where required.
  • Monitoring tolerances and ensuring works are delivered to specification.
  • Liaising with subcontractors, site managers and design teams.
  • Assisting with site planning and engineering problem solving.
  • Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of health and safety on site.

Criteria:

  • Previous experience working as a Setting Out Engineer for a Groundworks, RC Frame or Civil Engineering contractor.
  • Strong knowledge of foundations, drainage, external works and reinforced concrete structures.
  • Competent using Leica or Trimble surveying equipment and GPS.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of QA procedures, as-built surveys and site documentation.
  • CSCS Card (Essential).
  • SMSTS or SSSTS (Desirable).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Compensation:

  • Pay: £280 – 330 per day (depending upon experience)
  • Hours: 10 hour shifts (Monday – Friday)
