About You

The Site Engineer role at Rock Maintenance Ltd is a full-time position. RML has its head office in Rochford, Essex, with most of the site work carried out in London.

The Site Engineer will have a varied range of duties, including installation, refurbishment, and maintenance of aluminium systems, glazing, cladding, and related façade components.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting site surveys
  • Preparing technical reports
  • Coordinating with project managers and specialist teams
  • Ensuring that work is completed in line with design specifications, safety regulations, and environmental standards

The role involves monitoring quality control on all installations, identifying and resolving on-site technical issues, and liaising with clients, suppliers, and other contractors to maintain clear communication and smooth project delivery. The Site Engineer produces digital reports with photographic evidence to assist in build quotes for remedial works, replacement parts and scope of works required at sites.

Qualifications

  • Strong on-site project experience, in installation, refurbishment, and maintenance activities
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with clients, project teams, and subcontractors
  • Quality control skills, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and company procedures
  • Structural engineering or civil engineering knowledge relevant to building envelopes, façades, and glazing systems
  • Relevant technical qualification or degree in civil, structural, or building engineering, or a comparable field
  • Experience in aluminium systems, curtain walling, windows, doors, and glazing in a construction or maintenance environment
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices, including working at height and rope access environments
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and survey data, and translate them into practical on-site solutions
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Full, valid driving license
  • Applicants will need to consent to a background check to facilitate working on sensitive sites

Benefits

As a qualified engineer, expect a salary of between £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on qualifications and experience).

Rock offers a great working environment and a varied working week. Our engineers are capable of working on a wide variety of aluminium doors and windows, as well as fitting of bespoke glazing, inspecting facades and curtain walling.

You will have opportunities to work alongside other professional trades such as rope access teams and crane operators.

Skills and abilities are important at Rock, training is ongoing to maintain engineering skills.
