Role Description
The Site Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in the London Area, United Kingdom. The individual in this role will oversee site-based engineering activities on railway projects, ensuring that work is delivered in line with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

- Setting out and surveying works
- Supporting civil and structural engineering tasks
- Coordinating with project managers and site teams
- Resolving technical issues as they arise
- Monitoring construction progress
- Assisting with quality control inspections
- Preparing site reports and records
- Communicating effectively with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Contributing to safe work practices
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Continuous improvement of project delivery processes
Qualifications
- Ability to work effectively in an on-site environment, including field-based coordination and supervision of rail construction activities.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with project teams, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Experience with quality control processes, including inspections, documentation, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
- Knowledge of structural engineering principles relevant to rail and civil infrastructure projects.
- Background in civil engineering, with experience as a Civil Engineer or in a similar engineering role within construction or rail.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with railway standards, health and safety regulations, and site management practices (rail experience preferred).
- Proficiency in relevant engineering and surveying tools (e.g., total stations, CAD software, or similar).
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
