About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious Site Engineer to help deliver our contract for the Strategic Rail Freight Interchange (SRFI) at SEGRO Logistics Park Radlett.
Located at the former Radlett Aerodrome site in Hertfordshire, SEGRO Logistics Park Radlett will deliver a state-of-the-art rail freight terminal complete with extensive distribution warehouses and over 600 acres of enhanced green space.
The development aims to shift freight transportation from road to rail, significantly reducing carbon emissions and road congestion.
Construction is anticipated to take place over the next three years.
The scheme also promises numerous community and environmental benefits, including biodiversity net gain, employment and training opportunities, and integrated transport improvements.
Requirements
- Undertake accurate setting out and surveying of construction works using appropriate surveying equipment.
- Provide engineering support to Site Agents and the wider project delivery team.
- Ensure works are constructed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and inspection and test plans.
- Produce and maintain accurate site records, including quality documentation, as-built information and site measurements.
- Assist with the preparation and review of engineering drawings, specifications and technical information.
- Undertake regular checks and inspections to ensure works comply with the required tolerances and quality standards.
- Support the delivery of earthworks, drainage, highways, utilities and associated civil engineering infrastructure.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure works are delivered in accordance with the programme and project requirements.
- Assist with the management and resolution of technical queries and requests for information.
- Monitor and record progress of works and provide relevant information to the Site Management team.
- Assist with the preparation of material quantities, measurements and records where required.
- Ensure all engineering activities are undertaken in accordance with STRABAG UK procedures and relevant health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
- Contribute to the identification and resolution of technical issues on site.
- Support the preparation of handover and as-built documentation.
- Maintain effective communication with colleagues, subcontractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within a civil engineering or major infrastructure environment.
- Experience of setting out and surveying using relevant equipment.
- Experience across areas such as earthworks, drainage, highways, utilities or reinforced concrete.
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- A good understanding of construction methodologies and engineering principles.
- Experience of working with subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider project team.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
- A relevant HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction or a related discipline is desirable.
- Appropriate CSCS certification and relevant site-based qualifications.
