Site Hygiene Manager - Days
Location: Newport
Onsite (Days) - £50,000 + Package + Progression and Development
A leading food manufacturer is seeking an experienced Site Hygiene Manager to take full responsibility for hygiene operations across a high-care production site.
This is a key leadership role with accountability for delivering exceptional hygiene standards across all shifts in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
The Role
- Lead and manage site-wide hygiene operations across day and night shifts
- Oversee and develop a large hygiene team, driving a high-performance culture
- Ensure full compliance with retailer and regulatory hygiene and food safety standards
- Take ownership of hygiene systems, driving continuous improvement and sustainable standards
- Play a key role in audits, inspections, and customer interactions
- Lead from the front with a hands-on, proactive approach
- Support site performance through improvement and turnaround initiatives

About You
- Proven experience in a hygiene leadership role within high-care food manufacturing
- Strong understanding of working to major UK retailer standards
- Proven management experience, with the ability to act as the main site representative and key point of contact within the factory.
- Experience of managing managers and leading large operational teams (approximately 58 employees).
- Strong understanding of audit preparation, audit staging, and audit hosting.
- HACCP qualified with a minimum Food Safety Level 3 certification.
- Working knowledge of COSHH regulations and food manufacturing compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership, hold accountability for outcomes, and drive positive operational results.
- Strong resource management skills, ensuring efficient deployment of people and operational resources despite no direct budget responsibility.
