Blue Arrow is recruiting on behalf of one of our valued industrial clients based in Haddington, EH41, for a skilled and reliable Site Maintenance Engineer to join their busy packhouse operation.
This is a varied and hands-on role responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of packhouse buildings and equipment, ensuring all machinery operates efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on all site equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines.
- Diagnose and repair equipment and building faults promptly and efficiently.
- Support and liaise with external contractors completing maintenance and repair work.
- Assist with equipment installation, repairs, and cleaning as required.
- Support the ordering and management of spare parts and consumables.
- Ensure all work areas are left clean, tidy, and safe following maintenance activities.
- Attend emergency breakdown call-outs when required.
- Attend at least one weekly morning meeting to provide maintenance updates.
- Record and report machinery faults, breakdowns, damage, missing parts, maintenance concerns, and actions taken.
- Provide support and cover for Machine Operators when required.
- Ensure all work is completed to standards that protect food safety and hygiene.

Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in a maintenance engineering, mechanical, or facilities maintenance role.
- Good understanding of preventative maintenance procedures.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene, quality standards, health & safety procedures, and hygiene regulations.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly within production and packhouse environments.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional with excellent communication skills.
- Team player with a flexible approach to work.
- Must have own transport due to the location of the site.
- English communication skills required.
