Job Title: Site Management Lead
Location: Remote first, with travel to our Southampton office and operational sites as required.
Department: Service Delivery
Reports to: COO
Salary: £60,000 to £70,000
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Site Management Lead to join our growing Service Delivery team and take ownership of how we design, deploy, onboard and maintain customer sites.
This is an exciting time to join SkyBound as we move from proving our technology and service to scaling deployments across customer estates. As we grow, we need to build the processes, systems and team to support this.
Site Management is already a core part of how we operate, with responsibilities currently shared across the team. You’ll bring these together under a dedicated function, developing the team, processes and standards while remaining hands on across site design, surveys, deployment, onboarding and maintenance.
This is an opportunity to bring structure and consistency to a function that is already delivering, while building the capability needed to support our next stage of growth.
What You'll Be Responsible For
You will own the operational lifecycle of our customer sites, working closely with Service Delivery, Flight Operations, Procurement, Engineering, Product, PMO, Customer Success and our customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the end-to-end site management process, from initial survey and design through to deployment, onboarding, operational handover and ongoing maintenance.
- Developing consistent processes, standards and documentation for site delivery.
- Coordinating site surveys and ensuring site specifications are accurately captured and completed.
- Working with GIS and other technical teams to support site and flight-volume design.
- Managing the practical onboarding of new sites into our software and operational environment.
- Coordinating site deployments, working closely with PMO and internal and external delivery partners.
- Establishing effective processes for site and equipment maintenance, repairs and ongoing technical support.
- Identifying recurring issues and opportunities to improve site reliability, deployment efficiency and operational performance.
- Building appropriate systems, processes and reporting to provide visibility of site status, readiness, maintenance and performance.
- Working closely with Flight Operations to ensure sites are operationally ready and capable of supporting planned flight volumes.
- Supporting the development of the Site Management team, including identifying the skills and roles required as the business scales.
- Ensuring lessons learned from deployments and operational experience are fed back into future site design and delivery.

What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who has experience managing complex physical or technical deployments or operational infrastructure, and who is comfortable working in a business that is growing quickly and continuing to develop its processes.
You might come from a background in:
- Field operations or service delivery
- Infrastructure or technical deployments
- Telecommunications or network infrastructure
- Engineering or technical project delivery
- Rail, aviation, logistics or other operational environments
- IoT, robotics, autonomous systems or other technology-enabled services
- Facilities or asset-intensive operations
Your exact background is less important than your ability to take ownership, create structure and manage delivery.
You will be someone who:
- Is comfortable being hands-on as well as working at a strategic level.
- Can take something that is not fully defined and develop it into a repeatable process.
- Has strong organisational and project management skills.
- Understands the importance of good site design and planning before deployment.
- Can balance technical requirements with practical operational considerations.
- Is comfortable working across multiple teams and bringing people together to solve problems.
- Has strong attention to detail without losing sight of the wider objectives.
- Can identify where more structure is needed without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Is commercially and operationally minded and understands the importance of delivering a reliable service to customers.
- Is comfortable developing a function and its processes as the business grows.

The Opportunity
This role will give you ownership of the Site Management function and the opportunity to establish how it operates as SkyBound continues to grow.
You will work across the business to develop the operating model, processes and standards required to support our growing number of customer sites.
As our customer base and number of deployed sites grow, so will the function. For the right person, there is a clear progression path into Head of Site Management, with responsibility for the team, operating model and performance of the function.
