The roles

SSEN Transmission is recruiting for both Site Construction Manager and Site Supervisor opportunities to support the delivery of OHL and Substation Projects in and around Highland, Inverness, Moray, Aberdeenshire and Angus. These form a critical part of our Pathway to 2030 programme and are of the largest electricity transmission infrastructure projects in the UK.

Whether you're an experienced construction manager or an established site supervisor looking to take the next step in your career, you'll play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards of quality while helping build the network needed to support Scotland's net zero ambitions.

Working across major overhead line, substation and associated infrastructure works, you'll act as a key representative of SSEN Transmission on site, working closely with contractors and project teams to oversee delivery, monitor progress and ensure compliance with project requirements.

These are site-based roles and, during the construction phase, you'll be expected to be onsite five days per week across locations along the Beauly to Peterhead or Tealing to Kintore routes.

You Will

  • Act as SSEN Transmission's representative on site, overseeing contractor activities and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project requirements.
  • Monitor construction progress, quality, compliance and contractor performance, ensuring activities are completed in accordance with project specifications, programme milestones and industry standards.
  • Ensure all activities comply with statutory requirements, planning consents, environmental obligations, CDM Regulations, health and safety standards, contractual obligations and quality requirements.
  • Support project delivery through effective site management, including monitoring completed works, maintaining accurate records, contributing to project controls and tracking performance against agreed plans.
  • Build strong working relationships with contractors, project teams, operational stakeholders and local communities, promoting a positive and collaborative safety culture throughout project delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
