Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 depending on experience
Rhino Civils Ltd is looking for an experienced Site Manager to join our growing team for an immediate start on a civil engineering project in the Cheltenham area.
This role will suit a hands on, organised, and proactive individual with a strong civil engineering background. The successful candidate must have proven experience managing site operations across infrastructure, utilities, and complex civil engineering works, ideally within the regulated water industry.
Applicants must have solid civil engineering experience and be confident overseeing works including roads, sewers, drainage, ducting, pipework, utilities, and FRC works. Experience within regulated water environments would be highly advantageous.
Rhino Civils Ltd is based in Ilkeston, with a strong pipeline of ongoing and upcoming schemes across Birmingham and the wider Midlands.
We are therefore particularly interested in candidates based around Birmingham or the surrounding Midlands area who are looking for a long term opportunity and are willing to travel to projects as required.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage day to day site operations and ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently
- Supervise direct labour, subcontractors, plant, deliveries, and materials on site
- Oversee civil engineering works including drainage, sewers, pipework, ducting, utilities, roads, and FRC works
- Maintain programme, quality, safety, and compliance standards across all site activities
- Coordinate site activities and sequencing to ensure works remain on programme
- Carry out site briefings, inspections, and routine checks
- Liaise with clients, Project Managers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery
- Monitor progress, productivity, and resources and resolve site issues quickly and effectively
- Keep accurate site diaries, records, reports, and project documentation
- Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and client requirements
- Support successful project delivery from mobilisation through to completion
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering or infrastructure is essential
- Strong civil engineering experience is essential
- Regulated water industry experience is highly desirable
- Strong experience in roads, sewers, drainage, ducting, pipework, utilities, and FRC works
- Good understanding of site sequencing, temporary works, and construction methodology
- Experience managing direct labour and subcontractors
- Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills
- Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice
- SMSTS and relevant CSCS qualifications
- Full UK driving licence required
