Site Manager – Structural Steel
Location: UK-Wide Projects
Working Hours: Approximately 07:00–18:00 (10–11 hour shifts)
Sector: Structural Steel / Construction
We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in primary structural steel installation and erection to join our team and oversee projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for a fully competent Site Manager who can take ownership of site operations and ensure structural steel projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise structural steel installation and erection activities.
- Take full responsibility for day-to-day site operations.
- Coordinate steel erection teams, subcontractors, plant, materials, and deliveries.
- Monitor project progress against programme and proactively resolve issues.
- Liaise effectively with Project Managers, Contracts Managers, engineers, clients, and site teams.
- Ensure full compliance with UK health & safety legislation, site requirements, and company procedures.
- Lead site meetings, daily briefings, toolbox talks, and site inspections.
- Monitor the quality and standard of structural steel installation and erection.
- Maintain accurate site records, reports, and project documentation.
- Ensure high standards of site safety, organisation, housekeeping, and productivity are maintained.
- Identify and address potential site issues before they impact programme, safety, or quality.

About You
We are looking for a confident and experienced Site Manager with a proven track record within construction, ideally with significant experience in structural steelwork.
You will have:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within construction or structural steel.
- Strong, demonstrable experience in primary structural steelwork installation and erection.
- Experience managing steel erection teams, subcontractors, and site activities.
- A strong understanding of UK construction health & safety requirements.
- The ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and technical information.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under programme pressures.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel and work across UK-wide projects.
- SMSTS and CSCS (or equivalent) – required/desirable depending on project requirements.
