What's the role?

BRUSH Power Solutions is currently looking to recruit a site manager to oversee and coordinate all on-site activities related to High Voltage (HV) electrical infrastructure projects. As a site manager, you will deliver all site-based construction elements associated with multi-discipline projects, on-time to fully satisfy customer requirements. You will aim to continually develop and improve communications and performance within the Projects and Construction Teams.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a full understanding of the construction of electrical, elements of a project life-cycle. From the planning stage, through construction and up to commissioning.

Working Conditions - 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday between 7.30am-4.30pm. The role will be site based within a live substation environment. Our sites are situated across the South of England - Our current sites are Mannington, Hungerford, Swindon, Chichester and Southampton. A Company Van will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaising with all stakeholders to manage all construction activities, including progressing of programmes, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Holding Competent Person status (CP) administering the Electrical Safety Rules (ESR) and ensuring safety processes are upheld onsite.
  • Liaising with all Client Operations Teams throughout the construction phase.
  • Receiving, managing and issuing drawings for construction at site level, checking construction meets the requirements of design.
  • Working with the Team Leaders to ensure delivery on site is done safely, efficiently and is compliant.
  • Overseeing, coordinating and managing all completions.
  • Managing sub-contractor onsite activities.
  • Managing internal direct reports for Construction team.
  • Providing input into design reviews as and when required.
  • Plan in advance, provision of all documentation, resources, tools, materials, consumables, H&S equipment and transport, to ensure safe and efficient construction. Demonstrate this planning by providing a 1-week and 3-week lookahead.
  • Managing and coordinating site Acceptance Testing as required.
  • Managing the delivery of all ‘As-Built’ documentation throughout the onsite construction & commissioning phases.
  • Completing site audits and inspections when required, ensuring the highest standard of quality is maintained.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience of industrial electrical containment construction in accordance with current electrical regulations.
  • SMSTS Certification required.
  • Good knowledge of safe systems of work, with either a recognised industrial/commercial electrical apprenticeship or a relevant degree-level qualification.
  • Strong site management and coordination skills, with the ability to plan, organise and control multiple construction activities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, operations teams, subcontractors and internal teams.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction, safety rules, commissioning and acceptance testing.
  • Effective planning and problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage programmes, resources, risks and 1-week/3-week lookahead plans.
  • Strong leadership and quality management skills, with the ability to manage site teams, subcontractors, inspections, audits and completion activities.

Experience

  • Proven experience working as a Site Manager or in a similar construction management role on multi-discipline/electrical projects.
  • Experience managing projects through the full construction lifecycle, from planning and construction through to commissioning and handover.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, direct reports and multidisciplinary site teams to deliver work safely, efficiently and to programme.
  • Experience managing construction documentation, including drawings, risk assessments, method statements, as-built information and completion records.
  • Experience working within electrical safety procedures, including Electrical Safety Rules, site inspections, quality assurance and acceptance testing.
