Site Manager
Location: Slough
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Premises Manager to oversee the day-to-day management, maintenance, health & safety, and security of a busy school site in Slough.
Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the school buildings, grounds, and facilities are safe, secure, well-maintained, and fit for purpose. This is a varied role requiring strong facilities' management experience, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to lead site staff and contractors effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the maintenance, security, cleanliness, and overall operation of the school site and grounds.
- Lead and supervise premises staff, coordinating workloads and contractor activities.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including risk assessments, fire safety procedures, COSHH, and safeguarding requirements.
- Develop and implement planned preventative maintenance schedules and premises improvement plans.
- Oversee repairs, building projects, service contracts, and contractor performance.
- Manage site security, key holding duties, and emergency response procedures.
- Monitor premises-related budgets, procurement, and asset management.
- Support school events, lettings, and occasional out-of-hours requirements.

About You
- Proven experience in premises, facilities, estates, or site management.
- Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and site compliance.
- Experience managing contractors, maintenance projects, and budgets.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Competent IT skills and confident with administrative reporting.
- Practical maintenance skills and willingness to undertake minor repairs.
- Flexible approach with the ability to respond to emergencies outside normal working hours.
Desirable
- Experience working within a school, education, or public sector environment.
- NEBOSH qualification or equivalent Health & Safety certification.
- NVQ Level 2/3, supervisory qualification, or relevant trade qualification (e.g. plumbing, electrical, building maintenance).
